Acceptance of your order

Please note that completion of the online checkout process does not constitute our acceptance of your order. Our acceptance of your order will take place only when we dispatch the product(s) or commencement of the services that you ordered from us.

If you supplied us with your email address when entering your payment details (or if you have a registered account with us), we will notify you by email as soon as possible to confirm that we have received your order.

All products that you order through the Website will remain the property of Rotherwood Furniture until we have received payment in full from you for those products.

During the checkout process, you will be asked to complete your payment details. All fields indicated as compulsory must be completed. Please note that we will collect and store your information, using an encrypted secure payment mechanism and will only use your information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

All card payments are subject to authorisation by your card issuer and we take payment when we accept your order shortly before dispatch. If your payment is not received and you have already received the products you ordered from us, you must pay for the products or return those products to us in accordance with reasonable return instructions that we provide to you and in the same condition that you received them at your own expense. If you do not do this within 30 days of the date on which we cancel your order, we may collect (or arrange for collection) of the products at your expense. We reserve the right to charge you for any and all damage to (or other adverse interference with) any products that are the subject of an unpaid order.

If we cannot supply you with the product or service you ordered, we will not process your order, inform you of this in writing (including e-mail) and, if you have already paid for the product or service, refund you in full as soon as reasonably possible.

In Summary:

Preparing for furniture delivery
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure adequate access at the point of delivery. If it is not possible to deliver the items due to a lack of access space then we are unable to take the items back.

In order to ensure this situation does not occur we ask that you follow these few simple steps to ensure a hassle free delivery.

Measure the height and width of any hallways and door accesses, as well as the entry clearance.
Check the dimensions of the furniture in order to ensure the items will fit.
Clear plenty of space to allow for the delivery and any packaging materials.
Check the front door measurement, hall, and turn on stairs.

We will unpack and present your furniture in the room of your choice and remove all packaging materials from your home ready for your inspection and satisfaction sign off. You must ensure that you or a nominated adult is available at the point of delivery to check and sign for goods delivered. Any marks, stains, scratches, dents, punctures, rips, tears or patent defects, that are obviously and reasonably visible with such an inspection must be reported to the delivery drivers immediately who will contact our after sales team on their return to seek further guidance. Any defects not identified at point of delivery must be reported through to our store within 24 hours of receipt of goods. You may be asked to provide photographic evidence to support your claim, which will assist us to quickly help with the situation.

All our items will come either boxed or blanket wrapped. If the delivery men decide that indeed the box is dirty (sometimes with dust) they may remove this inside the delivery vehicle especially if it is a mattress which will be unwrapped at the bottom of the stairs on a blanket. If customers are receiving wardrobes then they normally come dismantled for handling purposes and our men will build these on site. Customers must make sure that there is adequate room for building purposes as they need 12foot square area to work in.



Delivery Schedule At Rotherwoods we aspire to offer our customers a delivery experience which is efficient and hassle-free. This is why we have selected the best specialist removal teams in the country to carry out your delivery. If delivery is within Scotland then our own delivery men will make the delivery to your home. They are excellant men who will unpack and place all items in the room of your choice. If delivery is being made to England then we use a fantastic delivery company who will also give the white glove service. For Highlands and Islands we will deliver the goods to the depot of the carrier that operate in these areas. This keeps the cost and timescale down for the customers as the services are going there just about every day. For european deliveries we will send our own delivery men who again will set up the furniture for you. If the items are small then we will use an appropriate carrier. A quote can be given for all European deliveries.

Once your order is ready to be despatched you will be contacted by our distribution department who will book a day with you. If you are unable to take on that particular day it will be put back into the distribution to be re-organised. We will try and offer you an alternative day as soon as we can. We can offer an am or pm slot depending on the delivery run and can call on a landline or mobile up to an 1 hour before delivery so that you can make sure someone is there. We recommend that the person responsible for the delivery is the buyer of the furntiure where possible as they will be asked to check the goods and sign for them as in good condition.

We are unable to give exact time slots as driving times vary and deliveries to customers addresses can take longer than expected on occasions. We understand customers work but they must make time to receive delivery of their order.
Tax Charges For orders made from the UK or the European Union, 20% VAT is added. All other orders are VAT free.
Credit Card Security When the order is placed at our website, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.

Returns Policy Returns policy
If, for any reason you are unhappy with you purchases you can return your order within 7 days of delivery. We will provide a full refund for the purchase price of the goods, but not any delivery charges. The cost of returning any items is the responsibility of the customer. Items must be returned in their original packaging. Please note that with the exception of faulty merchandise, for hygiene and safety reasons we cannot accept the return of certain items which have been opened (e.g. mattresses and pillows). Please note that a refund will only take place after the goods have been returned, inspected by our returns department and deemed to be in a suitable condition. For furniture items that require a two-man uplift you will be required to pay an uplift charge. This charge may be higher than the original delivery charge as the initial delivery cost is subsidised by Rotherwood Furntiure. Your furniture cannot be returned if your items are bespoke, made-to-measure or have been specially ordered for you i.e colour, handles, fabric, leather. We are also unable to collect items that have been built for you. Please inform us of any return you would like to make as soon as possible by emailing us at rotherwoodfurniture@tiscali.co.uk A member of our team will contact you to discuss the quickest and most efficient way for you to return your products. You will be provided with an individual ‘returns code’ so that on receipt of the items we can allocate any refund to you as quickly as possible. Please note that there will be no charge for any return if the delivered goods are faulty or if the items do not match your order correctly. In these instances replacement products will be delivered free of charge as soon as the items are available. Your right to cancel

If you are a UK/EU consumer, you have the legal right, under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 to cancel your order within seven working days following your receipt of the goods or the date on which we begin provision of the services. Refunds for orders cancelled under the provisions of the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations will be processed in accordance with your legal rights. For further information about your statutory rights, contact your local authority Trading Standards department or consumer advice centre (for example the Citizen’s Advice Bureau if you are in the UK.

If you wish to cancel (or are considering cancelling) a product or service you have ordered from us, please be aware of the following terms that apply:

Applicability of cancellation rights: Legal rights of cancellation under the Distance Selling Regulations available for UK or EU consumers do not apply to certain products and services (for example, made to measure orders, fabric choice, colour choice, handle choice)
Additional cancellation terms: Where Additional Terms and Conditions of Sale are applicable to any product or service you have ordered from us, these may also govern your cancellation rights and you should review these carefully;
Damaged or incorrectly supplied products: You should check all products you receive against your order. If the products you receive are damaged or incorrectly supplied on delivery then you must note the details of any damage or error in supply on the delivery documentation and inform us (by post, phone or e-mail only) within 24 hours. You must return the products to us as soon as possible after informing us that the products are damaged or have been incorrectly supplied. Please note that we will not accept the return of any damaged or incorrectly supplied products where you fail to notify us of this within seven working days of receiving them.
Other cancelled products: If you want to cancel products that are not damaged or incorrectly supplied, then you must inform us of this within seven working days of delivery. You must take reasonable care of the products that you wish to cancel and not use them. Products should be returned unopened or in the case of furniture, collection arrangements made, promptly at your cost (up to £150 in some cases) which will be notified to you at the time of cancellation.

The Regulations do not apply to made to order curtains and cushions, made to order furniture.

Damage during the course of returning products: If you choose to return any products to us, we will not be responsible for any loss or damage to them in transit and, for this reason, we recommend that you use a recorded delivery service. If returned products are lost or damaged in transit, we reserve the right to charge you (or not to refund any amounts attributable to) such loss or damage.
Collection: For certain, larger products, we may offer to arrange collection on your behalf and, where this is the case, you will be responsible to pay the costs of such collection (which we will notify to you in advance).
If you cancel your order in any of the circumstances set out above save for cancellation under the provisions of the Direct Selling Regulations, we will refund any money paid by you after any products, which have been delivered to you, are returned to us. In the case of damaged or incorrectly supplied goods, we may offer you a replacement product. Any refunds given by us will be made to the debit/credit card account provided when you placed your order and will be subject to our right to withhold amounts for products which are damaged on return or for which we arrange collection, as outlined above.
